Hurricane Sandy Response
Rev. Tom Hazelwood, UMCOR Assistant General Secretary for US Disaster Response shares this information regarding United Methodist Response to Hurricane Sandy: "There will be a lot of needs as a result of this storm," which meteorologists have referred to as "near historic" in size. "There are many ways you can help, but the most important right now is by giving to UMCOR US Disaster Response, Advance #901670, which will also cover needs in the Caribbean region," he said. Be sure to choose "Hurricanes 2012" from the drop-down menu. For up-to-date Hurricane response information check the Office of Creative Ministries site at www.umocm.com/disaster or contact the Office of Creative Ministries Disaster Response staff person, Dan Steska.

5th of the Month Soup Kitchen is a hands-on mission. Our group meets at Sts. Peter & Paul Soup Kitchen in Soulard on the 5th of every month. We cook, we serve, we visit with those we serve, and we clean up after we serve. This is a very family friendly monthly mission. Please join us one month, or every month! - We have a small group of women who volunteer their time to help couples during their wedding rehearsals and weddings. This is a unique and beautiful ministry that we offer. We are in need of a couple more folks who would be willing to minister in this way to new couple starting out in married life. Contact the church office for more information.
- We have around fifty homebound folks who receive regular visits from a team of members of the church. These visits are very rewarding to the visitors and helps keep folks connected to the life of the church. We are in need of a few more folks to do at least a monthly visit. If you feel called to this ministry, please contact the church office for more information.
