When we work together, great things can be done. We are sending another mission team to Puerto Rico in January, 2020. We are not working on our own in Puerto Rico. The Missouri Conference Mission Specialist Lucas Endicott reports that in the past year Missouri Methodists have sent over 60 volunteer teams to Puerto Rico to help with hurricane recovery.
Those teams, including one from Webster Hills UMC have given time and talent to help with clean up, repairs and new building projects. The teams have also bolstered the local economy by paying for transportation, accommodations and food. Also, Missouri Conference churches have donated over $165,000 to Puerto Rico recovery efforts, bypassing the goal of raising $150,000. “Behind all those statistics are stories of transformation. While we have been helping rebuild, we also have benefitted greatly from our brothers and sisters in Puerto Rico,” Endicott said.
The next Webster Hills team departs on January 25. To learn more about the project and how you can be involved, contact Todd Hovermale at email@example.com.
