Serve Within Webster Hills

"Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God's grace in its various forms." – 1 Peter 4:10

Our Discipleship Invitation calls us to fully engage in our community. There are countless service opportunities within and outside of the church walls to match your individual and God-given spiritual gifts

Internally, your musical talent, teaching skills, hospitality and other abilities can all be harnessed to live out Webster Hills’ mission of growing disciples to Follow Jesus and Change the World.

Children's and Youth Ministries

Adult volunteers are always needed and welcomed. Whatever your spiritual gifts or time availability, there’s a role for you. Behind-the-scenes tasks (e.g. putting packets together, decorating and building things, food prep) are as vital as teaching and shepherding children each week, at one-time special events or as a Vacation Bible School volunteer

Interested in learning more? Student Ministry Coordinator Keshira Watson would love to talk with you!  Contact her at kwatson@websterhillsumc.org.  An online volunteer interest form is also available. Click here

All adult volunteers are required to complete “Safe Gatherings” training. Certification is good for three years and the training is paid for by the church.

Interested in helping  with Vacation Bible School? Please let us know ASAP by filling out our VBS Volunteer Sign Up form.

Congregation Care Team

This team of trained and supported volunteers regularly visit our homebound members and friends who are not able to worship in person. We invite you to join the team! Fill out an interest form here or contact Pastor Ali Fields to learn more.

Connections Team

Whether you are an enthusiastic greeter, someone with a passion for safety or for hospitality, the Connections Team needs you! Hospitality is one of the most important services we provide to guests and members alike, from greeting everyone who walks in our doors, to making coffee, and to serving as a crossing guard to ensure everyone arrives safely to church. Typically, Sunday morning volunteers serve on rotating teams once a month. Volunteers are also needed for Wednesday Night Dinner Church, and team members may be asked to help at special events. Fill out Connections Team interest form or contact team leader Carolyn Feeley to learn more.

Music Ministry

Love to sing? Come and make a joyful noise as a Chancel Choir member. The choir leads in Sunday worship during the school year and in special services throughout the year. Wednesday night rehearsals begin at 7 p.m. in the Christian Life Center’s Great Hall (after Dinner Church), with childcare provided.  Click here to learn more or contact Director Andy Waggoner

Soloists and small groups often present music in worship. If you are a vocalist, instrumentalist, or part of an ensemble and interested in sharing your talents, contact Andy Waggoner to let him know.

The JuBELLation bell choir performs multiple times a year during Sunday worship and special services throughout the year. Want to join? Bell choir director Connie Haley would love to talk with you.

If your musical talent leans more toward organization than arias, we can always use help in our music library. Keeping things filed and up to date is important. Contact Director Andy Waggoner to learn more.

Prayer Team

Each week, prayer requests shared on Connect Cards, online and with staff members are sent to Prayer Team members who pray over each one (unless someone requests they only be shared with the pastoral staff). New team members are always needed. Fill out an interest form here or contact Prayer Team leader Terry Waggle to learn more.

New: Special Events Team

A new lay-led team to conceive, plan and facilitate special events that promote churchwide fellowship and social connection is being formed. If you have event-planning, organization management and other creative talents to share, we need you! Contact Communications Coordinator Susan Leathers to learn more.

Worship Team

Our Sunday morning Technical Ministry isn’t technically taxing but is vital to providing a consistent, quality experience for those worshipping in person and online. Training is provided and volunteers typically serve once a month. Fill out an interest form here or contact Technical Arts Coordinator Steven Kleekamp to learn more.

On the first Sunday of each month, and at special services during the year, volunteers are needed to prepare the Communion table and sacraments and clean up following the service.  Volunteers are needed several times during the year to decorate the sanctuary and worship spaces during special seasons. These roles provide wonderful opportunities for families to volunteer together. Sign up here to be a worship volunteer or contact Director of Worship Arts Andy Waggoner to learn more.
