Susan Leathers and her husband, Larry, moved to Saint Louis from Nashville, TN in 2023 as “trailing grandparents.” A Virginia native, Susan’s journalism career took her to newspapers in North Carolina, Alabama, northern California and Tennessee. She earned a degree in mass communications from Emory & Henry College.

A “cradle Methodist,” Susan has been active in churches wherever she’s lived and has served in many leadership roles.  Their oldest son, Martin, is an ordained UMC Deacon. More importantly, he and his wife, Hannah, made them grandparents. Younger son Thomas lives in Utah and spends most of his free time with granddog Walter exploring its national parks. 

Susan and Larry love to explore, close to home and on long road trips. They love St. Louis and living near grandchildren Evie and Isaiah.
